Meadowlands Racing & Entertainment is a state of the art, go-to broadcast center that features everything from racing to world class dining experiences. For a more private setting, our Skybox Suites overlook the track and offer a true VIP experience. Our breathtaking rooftop, Victory Terrace, offers incredible views of the NYC skyline and racing action. Additional venues include the bright and airy Lounge, intimate Gallery, elegant Trotters Owner's Club and much more.
This is a part-time barback position, the hours are Friday 3:00 pm or 4:00 pm to close, which is approximately 12:00 am. Extra hours may be possible during the week when we get busier during the warmer months. Starting rate of pay is $6.97 per hour plus tips. We are a union environment.
The responsibilities of the Barback are to assist the bartenders and cocktail servers by stocking the bar with liquor, ice, glassware, beer, and garnishes. Bussing tables and dishwashing are common duties. These are the additional duties as required: The restaurant Pink and The Lounge and all Special Events.

Education and/or Experience: Must be at least 18 years of age and have a High School or equivalent diploma. Previous bar experience preferred but not required. Associate needs to have knowledge of all state, federal and corporate regulations pertaining to alcoholic beverages to minors and intoxicated guests.
Special Qualifications: Ability to remain alert throughout the duration of the shift and remain calm during heavy volume periods. Incumbent needs to have interpersonal and communication skills; ability to act professionally and confidently interact with all constituents.
Language Skills: Associate needs to be able to speak English. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance, and procedure manuals. Ability to communicate effectively in English (orally and in writing) and must be able to follow instructions.
Mathematical Skills: The ability to add and subtract
Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Incumbent needs to have the ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables.
